How the Calculator Works

The tool above takes four inputs you provide: the number of travel days, your estimated daily spend per person (in dollars), the total transport cost for the whole trip, and the number of travellers. It first calculates a base daily cost by adding the daily spend per person to the transport cost divided across days and travellers. Then it multiplies that daily total by the number of days and travellers to get the raw trip total. Finally, it adds a 15 % buffer to help cover unexpected expenses.

In plain terms the formula is:

Daily total = (Daily spend per person) + (Transport total ÷ (Days × Travellers))
