Why we retired catalog EI ratings
Earlier directory pages assigned numbers using a tool’s catalog category and words in its description. Some stored profiles supplied a different number. Neither method established measured product quality, learning benefits or emotional intelligence. Those numbers should not be used to choose a tool.
What replaces them
Documentation profiles name their sources, review dates and limitations. Legacy listings identify missing evidence. A documentation review is not a hands-on test, and a link responding does not verify a product’s claims. Prices, privacy terms and supported features must be checked for the specific plan you intend to use.
Keep a checkable trial record
- Write the task, input and acceptance criteria before running a tool.
- Use the same input and instructions for each candidate. Record the model, settings and date when known.
- Preserve outputs and explain each judgment with evidence. Leave unsupported facts unknown.
- Repeat on another representative input. A single success does not establish broad superiority.
