AI Citations
Attaching verifiable source references to generated claims so a reader can check them.
What AI Citations is
Citations shift the burden from trusting the model to checking the source. They only help if the link genuinely supports the sentence it is attached to.
How it works
Retrieval systems track which chunk contributed to which sentence, and the interface links back to the original passage. Post-hoc citation, where a model is asked to find sources afterwards, is far less reliable.
Why it matters
Citation quality is now a differentiator between research assistants, and a requirement in academic, medical and legal use.
